A low grade and beginner competitions we thought we would give the under 8 year old a session of their own. These sessions will be designed around preparing the youngsters for competitive judo when they reach 8 years of age. They will be fun, with a mix of games, technique, what they need to do at competitions i.e. how to bow on and off the mat, when not to let go of a hold etc. etc. and there will be some mock contests so they can practice what they are learning. This will be great for them to meet and train with judoka from other clubs, with the feel of a competition, and get used to visiting other venues which can be a little scary. All participants will receive a medal for taking part.
The cost for the session will be £10 per child.

The 3 hour mat based session will start at 12 noon followed by an outdoor fitness session which will finish at approx. 4pm. Appropriate clothing will be required, as will drinks and light snacks. This training is aimed at competitive minded judoka of any age above 8 years old, all you need is an attitude to work hard, with plenty of randori in a friendly, encouraging environment and an aim to improve your judo.
